Teen & Adult Programs
It’s important individuals with Down syndrome remain active in the community through their school years and beyond. Gateway DSA offers several direct programs for teens & adults with Down syndrome, both online and in person. We utilize Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube for our virtual programming, and our multi-purpose room at our Gateway DSA headquarters for in-person programs. It’s our mission to build inclusive, accessible programs that everyone can enjoy!
Lifelong Learning - Fall Session 2026
Every Tuesday from August 11 – September 29 | 10am-1pm | Gateway DSA Headquarters in Brentwood
Lifelong Learning is a program for adults 18+ with a focus on problem solving, critical thinking, self-determination, and memory care. Activities include therapeutic art, music time, and body movement. This session will include Improv with Project Present, Zumba with Simone, Music Time, and Speech.
The cost is just $75 for the 7-week session and space is limited.
Fusion Friday
Every Friday from 9:30am – 1:00pm at the Gateway DSA Headquarters in Brentwood
Fusion Friday is for adults 18+. Activities focus on building confidence, social and conversational skills, and just plain fun! We play group conversation games, have music, dance parties and crafting. And of course, BINGO! Please brink a lunch and drink that does not require refrigeration.

Registration is required. Please register one time per quarter – Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Foundational Social Connections with Conquer Therapy Services
Friday’s starting September 11th through December 28th from 1-2pm at Gateway DSA in Brentwood
Conquer Therapy Services is offering a unique, small group opportunity led by an Occupational Therapist, designed to take a deeper dive into social and life skills that can lead to a more meaningful life. For ages 18+. The cost of this program is just $25/week. Sign up and payment are processed through Conquer Therapy Services.

Fit Foodie Club! with One Table
NEW PILOT PROGRAM! Tuesday’s October 6th – November 3rd from 10:30am-12:30pm at Gateway DSA
Join us for this new program in partnership with One Table! Participants will move their bodies during Zumba and learn how to cook nutritious meals with One Table! We will be utilizing the kitchen for the cooking portion of this program so everyone gets a hands-on experience. The cost is just $75 for all 5 weeks of class and GDSA will supplement all additional costs.

Bodies & Boundaries
Monday, October 26th & Tuesday, October 27th from 6:30 – 7:30pm on Zoom
This is a 2-day workshop for teens and adults with Down syndrome that covers topics related to appropriate touch and body safety, public and private behavior, and other subjects related to puberty and sexuality.
Please note this program is designed to assist caregivers in reinforcing information about personal boundaries and a parent/caregiver is required to be in attendance. Materials for the class will need to be picked up at the GDSA Headquarters, or we will need at least 1 week notice to mail out packets.

Teen Socials and Circle of Friends
Gateway DSA will be hosting inclusive social events throughout the year on Saturdays featuring music, dancing, group games, crafts, and more! Participants with Down syndrome and their typical peers will pair up, build friendships, and have fun together!
Teen Night for middle schoolers and high schoolers:
- Saturday, September 12th from 1-3pm at GDSA in Brentwood
- Friday, October 9th from 6-8pm at DDRB in St. Charles
Circle of Friends for ages 18+:
- Saturday, August 8th from 1:00-3:30pm in Brentwood
