The Holiday Help program at Gateway Down Syndrome Association provides basic needs items to families and gifts to individuals with Down syndrome, and their siblings and parents when possible. Applications for Holiday Help are open from October 1st through November 20th. We are accepting sponsors throughout the months of October and November. Donations are accepted year-round!
Donations must be new and can be dropped off at or shipped to GDSA headquarters. Donations may include all sizes bedding, kitchenware, books, toys, coats, gift cards, sensory items, and basic needs items (detergent, dish soap, paper towels, etc). We accept donations year-round and can even drop off/pick up a collection box at your business.
Sponsoring a family allows an individual or business to purchase gifts for an entire family with a loved one with Down syndrome. Sponsors are given fun details about the families and can choose which family they would like to sponsor, while utilizing a wish list.

Come join our therapeutic play group for children with Ds ages 3-5 years old where we build our gross motor skills with activities from the Special Olympics Young Athletes program, sing with Midwest Music Therapy, and, connect with other children with Ds and their caregivers. Fall 2026 sessions will be held September through November on the FIRST Thursday of the month from 5:30pm-7pm.
Registration and eligibility verification is required.

Gateway Down Syndrome Association is excited to introduce Fit Foodie Club, a brand-new GDSA program created in collaboration with One Table!
This 5-week program combines movement, cooking, nutrition, and community in one fun, hands-on experience!
Participants will move their bodies during Zumba and then head into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking experience with One Table. Together, they’ll learn how to prepare nutritious meals while building practical kitchen skills they can use at home. We’ll also talk about how to grocery shop effectively, make healthy choices, and develop positive habits around food.
October 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th & November 3rd

The Holiday Help program at Gateway Down Syndrome Association provides basic needs items to families and gifts to individuals with Down syndrome, and their siblings and parents when possible. Applications for Holiday Help are open from October 1st through November 20th. We are accepting sponsors throughout the months of October and November. Donations are accepted year-round!
Donations must be new and can be dropped off at or shipped to GDSA headquarters. Donations may include all sizes bedding, kitchenware, books, toys, coats, gift cards, sensory items, and basic needs items (detergent, dish soap, paper towels, etc). We accept donations year-round and can even drop off/pick up a collection box at your business.
Sponsoring a family allows an individual or business to purchase gifts for an entire family with a loved one with Down syndrome. Sponsors are given fun details about the families and can choose which family they would like to sponsor, while utilizing a wish list.
DONATION IMPACT LEVELS
$250 helps support a small family of 2-3 people.
$500 helps support a medium family of 3-4 people, or two small families.
$1,000 helps support a large family of 5+ people, or two medium families.
These amounts correspond with basic needs items they may require, such as bedding and shoes, and also takes into account a wishlist item as well.

Gateway Down Syndrome Association is excited to introduce Fit Foodie Club, a brand-new GDSA program created in collaboration with One Table!
This 5-week program combines movement, cooking, nutrition, and community in one fun, hands-on experience!
Participants will move their bodies during Zumba and then head into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking experience with One Table. Together, they’ll learn how to prepare nutritious meals while building practical kitchen skills they can use at home. We’ll also talk about how to grocery shop effectively, make healthy choices, and develop positive habits around food.

This interactive class helps participants strengthen communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, eye contact, and self-confidence in a creative and welcoming space. Through improv games, storytelling, and group interaction, participants build important social skills while having fun, laughing, and connecting with others.

This guided discussion group encourages participants to chat about anything and everything in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Through conversation, participants strengthen important communication skills such as turn-taking, active listening, self-expression, and building confidence while creating friendships along the way.

This is a 2-day workshop for teens and adults with Down syndrome that covers topics related to appropriate touch and body safety, public and private behavior, and other subjects related to puberty and sexuality.
Please note this program is designed to assist caregivers in reinforcing information about personal boundaries and a parent/caregiver is required to be in attendance. Materials for the class will need to be picked up at the GDSA Headquarters, or we will need at least 1 week notice to mail out packets.

Conquer Therapy Services is offering a unique small group, led by an Occupational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist, designed to take a deeper dive into social and life skills that can lead to a more meaningful life. For ages 18+. This group is held at the Gateway DSA Office in Brentwood, following most Fusion Fridays.
Foundational Social Connections: Friday’s 1-2pm • $25/week
Led by an OT & SLP, participants learn foundational social skills.
